Augustus Media has successfully acquired CAM Plus Sports, the Dubai-based sports system integrator that portrays live matches and on-demand recordings.

The local sports stream provider, CAM Plus Sports has been a success story in the nation as it successfully streamed a total of 500 games during the 2021/2022 season. The platform has benefited since its launch, as CamPlus Sports can be watched from anywhere live, or later on-demand with their unique App availability.
CAM Plus Sports will be attributed to Smashi TV, the Augustus Media-owned business tech and live streaming service in the Middle East. The content will be incorporated into Smashi’s OTT programming, under the Smashi Sports brand. Smashi Sports will build on its business of sports content by entering the live sports space by rebranding CAM Plus Sports
As part of this acquisition, Augustus will have content rights and the technology to bring live sports to Smashi TV. The best of local sporting competitions will be available for streaming on the platform being a wonderful addition to the large content catalog. Smashi Sports will showcase the best talent from the Arab world.
With the acquisition, Augustus Media gained broadcasting rights from the UAE Federations for Volleyball, Handball, and Futsal. In addition to the live sports, ownership of sixteen AI cameras from Pixellot and their AI software that allows remote broadcasting.
Pixellot is a provider of AI-automated sports video and analytics solutions. Pixellot solutions deliver dynamic coverage of the game flow by focusing on the relevant action happening on the field or court. They have entered the UAE market, following their expansion across several continents. The company has partnered with Dubai-based sports system integrator CAM Plus Sports to provide the best broadcasting of local sports.
Smashi Sports will explore opportunities for UAE Football and Basketball federations to enhance its streaming offerings – as plans include expansion into popular sports across the region in the future with its project, production and commercial team members.
