Lovin Abu Dhabi had the privilege of participating as an exhibitor at the NYUAD Slush’D Career Expo on February 8th, an event that united some of the region’s most promising students and leading startups. Our presence at the expo allowed us to engage with aspiring professionals, discuss career opportunities, and solidify our role in the media landscape.
In addition to our participation at the Career Expo, we also had the honor of being part of the NYUAD Arts Center media partnership. With logos featured in all their event marketing, and our flags were proudly displayed on the ground from Augustus until February, covering a range of events with positive feedback from the community. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with attendees always eager to return. As one client shared, “It is always great to have the team here. A lot of people have commented how nice they are to work with and that the takeover was amazing.”
Throughout the day, Numerous students were interacted with, many of whom were already followers of Lovin Abu Dhabi. Their passion for journalism, marketing, and communications was evident, and we were thrilled to witness their eagerness to explore careers in the media industry. Several students expressed interest in internships and full-time roles, underscoring the importance of Slush’D as a platform that bridges the gap between emerging talent and industry leaders.
One memorable moment occurred when a student, after engaging in the team, remarked, “I have to say, that was probably the first time I actually enjoyed a job interview!” This statement reflects the distinctive nature of Slush’D, which redefines the conventional career fair experience and fosters meaningful connections between candidates and employers. Unlike traditional career fairs, Slush’D offered students the chance to participate in pre-scheduled, 15-minute interviews with some of the region’s top startups. Many of these startups have secured substantial funding and graduated from prestigious accelerators like Y Combinator, Hub71, and Techstars, actively seeking interns, part-time employees, and early-career professionals across various fields, including marketing, sales, business development, design, and software development.
Our participation at Slush’D was not just about recruitment; it was about strengthening our engagement within Abu Dhabi’s thriving startup and career ecosystem. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by students reaffirmed the growing interest in the media industry, and we were proud to be part of a platform that nurtures future professionals.
